Six Days In, and Everyone is Still ALIVE!!

Mommy's little sleepy heads, not really wanting to be awake before the roosters crow!!

Six days of school down, 174 more to go!! So far so good, well other than Peyton who has decided to eat random things at school, hand sanitizer, paint, and glue, are all that he admitted to so far. He is doing well, considering his protest everyday include some sort of "I want to go back to Pre-K". He doesn't want to write, color, use scissors, glue stuff, and all that fun stuff that Kindergarteners do. I think it is because he is left handed, but who knows with that kid.

So now that you know what he doesn't want to do at school here is what he DOES want to do at school. Eat breakfast, eat lunch, go to recess, go to PE, go to music class, ride the bus to and from school. That is what Peyton wants to do, but since there isn't a consistent PE or recess, he is SOL!

Now Elijah, he is LOVING school. He is in the first grade, and he is so happy to see so many of his friends in his class again. He thought he wasn't going to know anyone, but alas he does. We are working sooo hard to get him to where he needs to be, and so far so good. And by we, I mean Elijah and I. He is working incredibly hard, and I am so proud of him, I can not express how proud I am of him.

Elijah took Peyton under his wing at school for about ummmmm a day, and then he told him he was on his own LOL. But today they decided to pinky swear to be best friends for ever and to always have each other's backs. I over heard them doing this and I said "awwwwwwwwwwwwwww" and I got fussed at because "its boy stuff and boy stuff isnt awwwwwww!" from the mouth of babes!

I am shutting up now since American Picker's is almost ending and I really need to get some well needed sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

My Darling Kindergartener!

My kids are total opposites. Elijah is quiet, fearful and not too terribly social. Peyton is a social butterfly who hasn't met a kid he wont talk to. Elijah is excited to go the doctor, dentist, loves school. Peyton protests any of those things and insist that he doesn't need to go to Kindergarten because he has books that can teach him everything he needs to know.

So in order to convince him that he is indeed cool enough to be a Kindergartener, I took him to the school today while I registered. Before we walk into the school the boy is already talking to EVERYONE he walks past. "Hi I am Peyton, mom thinks I am going to Kindergarden, yeah right" "Look, I can snap my fingers" "My brother goes to this school" yadda yadda!

We walk into the school and he finds a kid to talk to, evidently he is still cool with the kids he went to daycare with, when he was three. So they start talking, and run off to a little corner. My poor child will be getting in so much trouble this school year, he hasn't figured out that he doesn't have to TALK THIS LOUD ALL THE TIME!

Let me back track while I am at it. Peyton has this book that has to be the most disgusting thing in the world, it is filled with bugs, snakes, gators and all things insects and bugs. It is 608 pages of pure boy fun. He carries it around every where he goes. It has pretty much lived in my car all summer, I am surpised the sun hasnt gotten to it yet and warped it in any way. So I allow him to take the book (which is heavy as hell for a wee little five year old, but he likes to carry it) into the school, not thinking there would be someone he would HAVE to talk to. Peyton and freind decide to start scaring the women in the office with the book, because there are big vivid colorful huge nasty pictures, they just had to show off.

I am trying to fill out an equal amount of paperwork, because the school system needs everything short of a blood sample and Peyton is scaring people till his friend left. Almost instantaneously, Peyton has to use the rest room. I suddenly remembered the wonderful acoustics of empty restrooms, as does half of the school. Peyton decided that it was his moment to sing to me, and so he sang as I was talking to a teacher in the hallway. With no worries and no warning the boy belted out his rendition of Who Let the Dogs Out? It is probably useless to tell you how many people laughed, he has an audience when he left the restroom.
We went back into the office to finish filling out the paperwork, and of course Peyton had to talk to the little girl in there, turns out they are in the same class. As we leave he tells the girl "Hey girl, I will see you in Kindergarten!" As we were walking back to the car, he made his mind up, he was going to Kindergarten after all.

Now if I can get him to stop protesting wearing his glasses!!
